Hard Hands was a group consisting of me (DENVER), Ken and Paul Allan. Ken and Paul had a band called Sounds of the Barbary Coast, which was excellent. They now have a band called Houndstooth and the Wolfhounds…also excellent. Paul is a phenomenal artist. Ken is an attorney. I once saw Ken pull a villain’s shirt over its head and then repeatedly punch the villain’s face. It was similar to hockey.
This elephant lives on the arm of Daniel Ahearn, one of my all time favorite singers. More DENVER tattoos in the works.
Hear some awesome music from Daniel at this link…he rips,
Here’s the song from Koston’s nike interview. I made this song two weeks ago while in Denmark for my father-in-law’s birthday. We had a great time there. Danes are solid.
My buddy Scott is one of the best artists ever invented. He paints paintings that warm hearts and freeze lava. He is also highly friendly and very funny.
You can see his art while listening to one of my songs at this link.
Casiotone For the Painfully Alone is one of my all time favorite bands. That band is a master at Words With Friends, too. I haven’t even come close to beating him. I remember him talking about Scrabble on tour. CTFPA drew this poster and I screened it.
We played a show in Nashville, TN in a real dive. When Total Shutdown played Nashville, we played with a metal band called Without MF Order. They were transported to that show from an early ’80s highschool movie and could not be stopped. They sounded like Poison. WMFO was energetic, optimistic and raging. Somehow they liked TS, too. We were best friends that night.
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone and I didn’t play that place. We were in the slums. While waiting to play, we grew hungry so we left the venue and walked to find food.
There was no food, just murder-alleys and death-houses. As we walked by a murder-house with criminals sitting on the front stoop, I sincerely thought Owen and I were going to have to do damage.
Owen is a big man and if he wanted to he could annihilate bad guys, but he is kind and peace-loving. Thankfully, the villains didn’t attack.
After we’d left the goons in the dust, a weird guy started walking with us. He was highly inquisitive and he walked us right out of the slums. We think he was an undercover cop who wanted to help ferry us to safety after he realized we weren’t searching for drugs or switchblades.
Long live Casiotone For the Painfully Alone!
This beautiful poster was designed by Blake Leeman. I burned the screen, with help from Will Rogan at the SF Art Institute. I screened the poster in my garage in the Sunset district of SF. The poster is screened on the blank side of Final Destination 2 posters.
After playing shows on tour, if my poster was still up after my set, I’d take it. That is a sign of an inner hoarder dying to get out.
My brother is a nightmare walking, psychopath talking, king of the jungle just a warrior stalking.
He is the best.
